AIQ and Mohamed bin Zayed University of AI sign MoU for research into solutions for energy

AIQ and Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence have signed a Memorandum of Understanding that will energize joint research into AI-related technologies with an emphasis on solutions for the energy sector. The agreement was signed in the presence of AIQ CEO Omar Al Marzooqi, MBZUAI President, Professor Eric Xing, and senior management from both organisations.

AIQ is a joint venture between ADNOC and Group 42. Across the entire value chain, AIQ efficiently collects, categorizes, and models data allowing for smarter, safer, and more informed decision making. Founded in 2020, AIQ was able to rapidly grow its team of world-class professionals, including more than 15 PhDs all in Abu Dhabi, UAE. AIQ uses its own data management platform – E-Novus, which incorporates four dedicated suites of applications – Drill-Novus, Geo-Novus, Opti-Novus and Eco-Novus, covering every domain of Oil and Gas enterprises, looking to accelerate digital transformation and energy transition.

Under the terms of the MoU, AIQ and MBZUAI will collaborate on a wide range of advanced technologies as well as the exploration of a joint lab or research and development center. In addition, the agreement will enable internships and AI training opportunities for MBZUAI students at AIQ. Both parties will also explore the potential for endowed chair and adjunct professor positions at the university.
