Global CIO Forum, Automation Anywhere, TSME roll out websummit

Global CIO Forum’s GCF Unite WebSummit, Automation Anywhere and TSME successfully completed a regional websummit on 5 May targeting the insurance sector in the Middle East. The virtual summit titled, Digital workforce driving business continuity, covered the benefits and the challenges of adopting robotic process automation.

With many enterprises shifting towards digital transformation, robotic process automation adds to the benefits for the industries as a whole. Robotic process automation needs suitable design, planning and governance to strengthen businesses. It mimics people interactions, high-performance tasks, automates operational processes, minimises errors and improves efficiency and performance, thus significantly reducing costs.

With this technology, enterprises can transform their business processes digitally, and the workforce can effectively focus on other high-value tasks. Robotic process automation utilises the user interface for data capturing and critically analyses the tasks on a regular basis. It efficiently interprets the actions and communicates in order to perform and save up on various repetitive task.

Omar Madaeen, Territory Sales Manager for Jordan, Lebanon, Kuwait, at Technology Strategies Middle East, TSME, opened the virtual summit by giving an introduction to TSME, a key partner of Automation Anywhere. Madaeen presented the consulting and technology strengths of TSME, as well as its customer profile.

The keynote session was led by Sumeet Pathak, Digital Workforce Evangelist at Automation Anywhere, who has over 20 years of experience in top-tier global banks. Pathak, tackled the primary challenges of how to generate a return on investment from robotic process automation; where to start from inside an organisation; what are the typical pitfalls to avoid; and the metrics of measuring the success of introducing robotic process automation. The keynote also demonstrated the process of building a software robot to integrate multiple application processes, typical within the insurance industry.

Before the opening keynote and at end of the same keynote, the online attendees were invited to submit their responses to four, on-screen, interactive polls. The polls looked at which stage of the robotic process automation were the attendees, and how many such robots they had introduced into their organisations. The overall results of the polls was also shared with the attendees.

Samer Othman Manasrah, Senior Project Manager and Head of PMO, GIG TSME, took over from Pathak at the end of his keynote. Samer presented the workflow of introducing robotic process automation inside a typical insurance focused organisation.

Questions from the attendees were answered at the end of the hour long virtual summit by Sumeet Pathak, Samer Othman Manasrah and Omar Madaeen. Close to 100 IT managers and other senior level IT decision makers, were present during this hour long virtual summit, that included the countries of UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan.
