Sharjah institutes embark on digital transformation with help of EVOTEQ

Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry, SCCI. and Sharjah Expo Convention Centre have announced a digital transformation partnership with EVOTEQ, a technology management company. The project reflects SCCI and Expo endeavours to adopt digital transformation for their services, in line with Sharjah’s drive to provide smart government services across all its departments.

EVOTEQ will implement integrated ERP, CRM, and Online Services Portal solutions for SCCI and Sharjah EXPO using highly advanced platforms. Along with the implementation of software solutions. It will also deliver data cleansing and migration services to the new systems.

The partnership was signed in the presence of HE Saif Mohammed Al Midfaa, CEO of Expo Sharjah, Maryam Al Shamsi, Assistant Director General of Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the Support Services Sector, Sheikha Azza Al Qasimi, Acting Executive Director of Expo Sharjah, Abdul Aziz Humaid Al Houli, Director of Information Technology Department at Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Jihad Tayara the CEO of EVOTEQ and Sultan Al Owais, Managing Director, Business Development at EVOTEQ.

Says HE Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, SCCI and Expo, “This cooperation with one of the leading companies in the field of digital transformation is considered a part of the Chamber’s endeavours to consolidate the concepts and practices of quality, excellence and innovation culture, through enhancing our partnerships and exchanging experiences with various entities that support economic development and growth in Sharjah.”

He adds, “We are very keen to develop our technological infrastructure by adopting high quality and efficient systems so that we are able to provide the best services to the Chamber’s members and customers, while ensuring the highest standards of data security. This will positively reflect on the investment climate in Sharjah, as well as protecting business community interests, facilitating and simplifying procedures. Thus, we can enhance the business environment in the Emirate to attract investors and stimulate  economic growth.”

HH Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, says, “This cooperation serves Expo’s efforts to keep pace with developments in the information technology sector, by adopting of the latest innovations, the best smart solutions and advanced digital services. The new partnership will help in meeting expectations of the Center’s employees and exhibitors alike, especially by adopting best practices in this sector, as well as protecting our digital infrastructure. We consider that this trend is consistent with the vision of Sharjah as a city of the future to encourage doing business in a safe, attractive and stable environment, and establish a knowledge-based economy and society.”

Abdul Aziz Humaid Al Houli notes that this cooperation came in line with the digital transformation project that the Chamber has been developing over the past few  years to enhance its role in serving its members. “The partnership with EVOTEQ will provide advanced services that can support digital capabilities at high levels. Introducing cloud computing for ERP and CRM will support automation processes and data standardisation across all SCCI departments to enhance their commitment towards corporate policies and improve satisfaction among employees, business users and the external business community in general,” he adds.

Al Holi points out that SCCI has achieved advanced steps in the field of digital transformation with its services, most notably the Barq system that issues a certificate of origin wherever a  business user is located in Sharjah by using smart devices placed in several selected locations, such as airports, seaports, major industrial zones and government departments.

In addition, it launched a Follow Me initiative, for which a robot accompanies and guides SCCI visitors, as well as a digital board which helps customers to track daily transactions in the chamber, government departments, major economic events and indicators in the UAE markets. Moreover, it launched a remote work program that allows SCCI employees to accomplish their duties without the need to come to their offices.
