Juniper Networks briefs top executives how to engineer simplicity into networks

Juniper Networks and GEC Media Group, completed a high profile executive round table, around the theme of generating simplicity for enterprises as they migrate to the multi-cloud. Titled: Moving from multi-cloud chaos to calm, Simplify your journey to multi-cloud with AI-driven networks and automation, the roundtable event was successfully completed at the Emirates Palace, Abu Dhabi on 28th August 2019.

Over a dozen top executives responsible for managing networks and security in enterprises took part in the roundtable discussion. The discussion was moderated by GEC Media Group, Editor Arun Shankar. Haitham Saif, System Engineering Manager META; and Fayez Eweidat, Enterprise Sales Director, META, led the discussion on behalf of Juniper Networks.

The theme of the presentation led by Haitham Saif, was to present the idea that complexity is increasing in the technology world and simplicity is decreasing. Juniper Networks is committed to reducing the complexity of the network, increasing the simplicity, and enhancing the security, with its latest breed of solutions.

Through his presentation, Saif pointed out that the world is changing faster than it ever has. Creating simplicity is harder than complex. Simplicity is usually a huge feat of engineering. Juniper Networks has always been about innovation, believes that creating simplicity through engineering is innovation’s highest form. Complexity is costing billions of dollars in lost productivity. It also exposes security risks, and traps talent to keep the lights on instead of innovating. It is the new hard problem to solve in IT.

Getting from where you are to where you want to be is a transition. More than the products and technology, the focus is very much on the journey. The five-step enterprise multi-cloud framework is the map Juniper Networks uses to help customers in their transition to a secure and automated multi-cloud.

Ultimately to get from where you are to where you want to be, is going to be a transition. The people, the process, the tools that are around the infrastructure need to evolve as well. It is not simply about products and technology; it is about making this journey. Juniper Networks’ frames this up into what the vendor calls – five-step, enterprise multi-cloud migration.

Juniper Networks customers can operate multi-cloud platforms with consistent security and operations across all places in the network, with support to launch workloads on any cloud and in any server. Using a common operating system and a single, open orchestration platform, Juniper Networks solutions help customers manage the complexity of operating in different environments.

In addition to providing customers the ability to automatically build and operate any size datacentre or cloud, what can customers do with this network to help them differentiate their businesses?

Customers have the ability to deploy SDN architectures using a single pane of glass with Cloud Analytics Engine and Junos Space Network Director. Based on network analytics, services can be optimally provisioned and stitched together with any SDN controller, Contrail, VMware NSX, or others.

If there is one trend that is shaping Juniper Networks’ strategy and investment more than any other, it is the cloud. Every single company is leveraging the cloud. Of course, the drivers here are economics, but also you pay for what you use so you avoid stranded capital, and agility, you have a nearly limitless, on-demand resource pool.

The global security industry will be $8 Trillion by 2022, as the number of threats continues to grow rapidly. And the bad actors are highly sophisticated and well-funded, they are nation states and organized cyber-crime. Cybersecurity is a Board of Directors level issue for every company because they do not want to end up on the front page.

The other challenge companies face is a severe shortage of qualified cybersecurity professionals. It is estimated that in 2020, there will be 2 million unfilled cyber security jobs globally. More threats and fewer people mean that a new, automated approach is needed to stay ahead of the bad guys. And Internet traffic keeps growing. Enterprises are seeing their network traffic grow rapidly while their IT budgets are flat. This puts a strain on existing networks and this is where Juniper Networks has to innovate.
